Art
Many may question what is art?
Well, there ain’t no simple answer to that!
Art is a form of expression that tells us apart.
It’s a creative piece of imagination and skill.
Most importantly, it must express ideas or feelings.
Which one may find simple yet difficult to articulate.
Yet, it will always convey purposeful meanings.
Thus, art in fact has an endless definition.
Despite the various branches of creative activity,
Art will always have an aspect of creativity.
It could be in a still form or even interactivity.
Yet, art is incredibly complex and subjective in the eyes of disparate pupils.
In the traditional era, art is quite narrow.
A classification of beauty and prosperity.
Almost as if it was a fixed target with a predetermined arrow.
No room for variety and contemporary changes.
However, when modernism arrived, art had dramatically changed.
Art forms, diversity, flexibility flew over the roof.
Where everything was newly rearranged.
Artists came in different shapes and styles.
Paintings, drawings, illustrations expanded.
Dancing, singing, performing were all considered as art.
Artists began to express themselves as the industry demanded.
Anything that conveyed an idea or feeling creativity is art!
Art forms increased.
Where film, literature, music, sculpture, and even photography are all considered art.
Traditional art gradually decreased.
Anyone who can produce a creative piece is an artist.
Through the advancement of technology,
Art can be transformed and created on a device instead of a canvas.
This alters the traditional artist’s ideology.
Art creation can be drawn, deleted, edited and filtered now.
Has the universe transformed the definition of art?
Or has it helped improve the true meaning of what art is?
Art is indeed the message transmitted into one’s heart.
The essence of knowledge, feelings, and emotions.
Art will forever be an abstract expression.
With a million different interpretations.
No one can alter nor gain rights to the original possession.
Unless they purchased it as an asset to keep for succession.
In 2024, art can be anything one defines it to be.
Like the famous Shakespearean quote of “to be or not to be”…
Art is inherently a pure subjective experience.
One’s eyes will see darkness yet another may sense brightness.
