Those eyes...A heart's Dilemma

Your eyes,

I see them shift,

and my mind starts to drift,

“Where are they wandering?”

I asked,

I’m wondering,

Struggling to understand,

Why my hand is so out of reach for you,

And when I do try to meet you halfway, There’s this wall in the way,

That prevents me from leaving,

And compels me to stay,

This wall replaces the warmth I once felt,

And the hand I once so quickly held,

But I suppose feeling the cold wall,

Beats feeling nothing at all,

Even when all of our goodbyes,

Feel like knives digging into our lives, souls, Each one more painful than the prior,

I still mourn for our love,

That once burned like a fire,

As I burn in the pyre,

We unknowingly built,

The tears I shed for the sake of love,

Turn into vapors of rage and guilt,

(at the moment)

And the most heartbreaking thing,

Is that my heart is beating,

As it continues breaking, melting,

I wish I could blame fate for our failure,

Instead of knowing it’s the choices we’ve been making,

Now I’m taking my time,

To make up my mind,

but with each step, I take toward progress,

I feel you taking steps away from mine,

Lover, when did our flames of love, become mixed with fire of resentment, and spite?

and remorse?

And can you tell me,

How can I separate one flame from another,

And still hold your hand,

Without us burning each other?

The Essence of life

The existence of Essence is validated in multiple ways. Yes, in essence, humans are thinkers, and in thought is existence. This is something of intrinsic value. Yet, we are more than just people that exist. We are humans, children of parents — we are so many things. Yes, we shape our existences through the lives that we live and the actions that we take, but to say that before such life we are nothing is ignorant. Existence is intrinsically valuable, and it is also shaped by things that are pre-conceived — our essences. We are placed into a box from the moment we are born. There are a trillion colors that we cannot see, a matter that we cannot breathe. Yet, this humanity, this box, is what makes us who we are. The search and giving of essence is not so unwitting.

An awfully fake smile,

on a

exquisitely beautiful face,

is the

gruesomely worst

thing one might

ever see.

At the end of the day, we’re just stories seeking narrations. A whispered sonnet: poetry in motion, looking for our perfect rhyme or piece. Will you be my final chapter? or will it only be me chasing? Will your face grace the cover of all my editions? Are you my plot twist or my cliff-hanger? It’s okay, I can write my own happily ever after😊

Literature on art, more of a poem

Art

Many may question what is art?

Well, there ain’t no simple answer to that!

Art is a form of expression that tells us apart.

It’s a creative piece of imagination and skill.

Most importantly, it must express ideas or feelings.

Which one may find simple yet difficult to articulate.

Yet, it will always convey purposeful meanings.

Thus, art in fact has an endless definition.

Despite the various branches of creative activity,

Art will always have an aspect of creativity.

It could be in a still form or even interactivity.

Yet, art is incredibly complex and subjective in the eyes of disparate pupils.

In the traditional era, art is quite narrow.

A classification of beauty and prosperity.

Almost as if it was a fixed target with a predetermined arrow.

No room for variety and contemporary changes.

However, when modernism arrived, art had dramatically changed.

Art forms, diversity, flexibility flew over the roof.

Where everything was newly rearranged.

Artists came in different shapes and styles.

Paintings, drawings, illustrations expanded.

Dancing, singing, performing were all considered as art.

Artists began to express themselves as the industry demanded.

Anything that conveyed an idea or feeling creativity is art!

Art forms increased.

Where film, literature, music, sculpture, and even photography are all considered art.

Traditional art gradually decreased.

Anyone who can produce a creative piece is an artist.

Through the advancement of technology,

Art can be transformed and created on a device instead of a canvas.

This alters the traditional artist’s ideology.

Art creation can be drawn, deleted, edited and filtered now.

Has the universe transformed the definition of art?

Or has it helped improve the true meaning of what art is?

Art is indeed the message transmitted into one’s heart.

The essence of knowledge, feelings, and emotions.

Art will forever be an abstract expression.

With a million different interpretations.

No one can alter nor gain rights to the original possession.

Unless they purchased it as an asset to keep for succession.

In 2024, art can be anything one defines it to be.

Like the famous Shakespearean quote of “to be or not to be”…

Art is inherently a pure subjective experience.

One’s eyes will see darkness yet another may sense brightness.

You Make My Day

 You Make My Day:

When you turn to me, you make my day.

"I love you," my voice yearns to say, always,

That's the truth, I say it from the heart,

Together true, never wishing to be apart,

(filled those gaps with mesmerizing beauty)

My heart sings, of beauty and love

Darling to me, you are like a dove (or an angel),

forever free, you fly away,

I am content; you make my day,

Your eyes, like rich earth kissed by sun's rays,

Draw me into depths uncharted, a mesmerizing gaze, they beckon to me,

Your flowing hair, reminds me of the night,

full of stars, shining in the light

your lovely smile, washes all gloom,

like a budding flower, waiting to bloom,

Your soothing voice, when it calls my name,

It makes me content; it makes my day.

Struggles and hardships, you stayed by my side,

like the bright summer sun, you showed me the light,

Always encouraging, you gave me my strength,

like the pine trees in a forest, forever unbent

You give me purpose, your laughter makes me smile,

Warmed by your loving embrace, would you hold my hand for a while?

When we grow old, will you remember my name?

smile at me like you used to do, and make my day?

young when I first saw you, I was awkward and scared;

Mustered up all my courage, to talk to her I dared.

With a warm smile you greeted me, it made be blush,

I couldn't describe that feeling I got, my face became flushed.

That warm feeling, I had for you, it will never change,

till then to the end of time, seeing you makes my day.

Love's Unyielding Strength

in the heart of Abi-adi, in Tigray surrounded by the tumult of the Tigray conflict, lives a couple whose relationship weathered years of adversity and had withstood the test of time. Aberaha Gebere, 85, and his wife, Ametezihar Geberegiorgis, 75, are unwaveringly committed and strong.

Aberaha and Ametezihar, who are originally from the areas of Humera, have spent their lives together, united by a deep connection of love and mutual support. Their recent days were filled with the success/abundance of a flourishing farm and the joyous sounds of their children. However, the turbulence and tides of war destroyed their life, leaving only fragments of the past and permanent wounds.

Living in a classroom at a vocational college (TVET), with other internally displaced persons Aberaha and Ametezihar took comfort in each other’s presence. Their shared living space, measuring 56 square meters couldn't hold the depth of their long-lasting affection.

Ametezihar shared/recounted their story with emotion. "We had a lot back, in our hometown " she expressed, "Despite the loss of our children and going through/ enduring unimaginable hardships, we still have each other."

Ametezihar's unwavering devotion to Aberaha showcased the love they shared/ still sharing. She prepared meals for him, cared for his injuries, and provided him with encouragement during his moments of weakness. In Aberahas's perspective, he didn't perceive pity in her eyes. Rather, in my little stay I witnessed an unwavering encouragement and limitless affection

Aberaha and Ametezihar held each other close, in their home their love shining brightly like a guiding light brightening the shadows around them. Within their embrace a sense of optimism emerged—for a future for a world filled with harmony and empathy.

Their story endures today, serving as a reminder of love's unrelenting strength and the transformational power of unflinching dedication. And as the world observed their love, may it encourage us all to work for a future where love triumphs over hatred, and compassion and understanding reign supreme.

Sunday Thoughts

I truly think that how people treat you is not necessarily a reflection of their feelings, towards you.
It's more about their state of mind, at that moment.
Sometimes people end up hurting you without meaning to because they are struggling internally dealing with issues that have nothing to do with you.

Don't get tempted by the desire to be popular; it's preferable to earn respect.
Maybe even a little fear.

Thoughts

I feel pity for the people who are too blind with their own ego to realize how much wrong they've done to others, but instead focusing on the faults of others and playing themselves as the victim.
Indeed, self awareness is not something everyone has.

Favourite song of the month

Nf: running

Be you

It's important to remember that you hold a special place in someone's heart. Your unique qualities, such as your laughter, kind heart, and sense of humor, make you their favorite person. You have the ability to ease their troubles with a warm embrace or a listening ear. Although it may be difficult to believe at times, you are valued and cherished simply for being yourself.

A little motivation

After a period of healing one may perceive others differently as they have changed.
The way in which they view individuals and their actions may also be altered.

To elaborate on this?

Once you have healed, your perspective towards people will shift, and you won't view them in the same way as before. The process of healing changes you and alters the way you perceive others. so chin up, and walk through it. ✍✍

WHAT IS IRREECHAA?

it's one of the largest festival in Africa, celebrated by 40+ million of OROMO people.

IRREECHAA has nothing to do with any religion.

IRREECHAA means THANKS GIVING DAY!!

which makes it the first Africans to celebrate Thanksgiving day.

Fact about waaqeffanna:

There is no belief in hell or evil spirit. It's believed to say everyone goes to "heaven". You get your punishment in this life. Waaqa is considered the " black God" because black represent origin and mystery.

There is no holy scripture, houses of worship, or prophets.

Only natural sites such as large trees, mountains, and lakes are considered sacred and closer to God.

It's an ancient monotheistic faith.

Important practices:

Following waaqa's laws not with the intent to secure life after death but rather to live happily while on earth.

Also while having an appreciation/connection with your ancestors.

All creation by waaqa(GOD) have "ayyaana"(spirit) the ultimate goal is to live up to the will of waaqa(God), which is to serve our purpose on earth. It is upto us to discover our purpose.

The devil doesn't exist and humans must take responsibility for their wrong doings by praying for and seeking wisdom in order to avoid making the same mistakes. Because waaqa created and keeps the balance of universe, humans are also expected to respect his Creation and produce creative work with their time on earth. We understand waaqa's identity can never be wholly comprehended by the human mind.

The faith is actually universal as waaqeffanna is believed to be the Oromo way of following the creator of the universe, and that other African traditional faiths are valid in a sense they are just following God with their God given culture.
